In part two of a two-part episode, sportswriter Jesse Spector chats about “sticking to sports:” why he’s so politically vocal on Twitter, if he’s afraid an outlet wouldn’t hire him because he’s so outspoken, and the double standard of certain sports media members not touching politics at all.
Plus, the Fun 5! Including: which athlete would he most want to see make a run in the WWE?
It’s the end of the month, so – to distract you from the fact summer is basically over – I threw a little roundup together of some of my recent shows. I freaked out a little when Blake Horton made me eat all my calories for the day in one meal; freaked out a lot when I tried harvesting honey from swarms of bees; and then completely lost it when the Bella Twins came to visit.
You know I’m as big a wrestling fan as it gets. And when it comes to wrestlers, there are few bigger names than the Bella Twins.
AND I GOT TO INTERVIEW THEM BOTH AT ONCE!!!
What an awesome time with the ladies, which starts around the 23:00 mark.
Thanks to their 10 years in the business, breakout performances on E!’s Total Divas and Total Bellas, and even their high-profile relationships with John Cena and Daniel Bryan, Nikki and Brie Bella are arguably the two most famous female wrestlers of all time.
It’s one of my favorite events of the year: WWE’s SummerSlam. To get prepped, I dialed up Rob Wolkenbrod to chat some wrestling. Rob runs the Daily DDT website for FanSided, Time Inc’s division of fan-generated content. We discussed what it’s like to run a site with 30+ contributors, how to stand out in a crowded WWE market, and made our SummerSlam predictions.
Excuse the stuffy nose. I was getting over a cold, but after Finn Balor won the Universal Championship with a separated shoulder at last year’s SummerSlam, I wasn’t taking the episode off.
