Braun Strowman: WWE superstar. 6-foot-8, 385 pounds.
Me: WWE fan. 5-foot-8, 180 pounds.
The Monster Among Men consumes 15,000 calories a day, anchored by his favorite thing to order at Chipotle: a 2-pound, 1,460-calorie bowl built around three servings of steak and two of chicken. To get pumped for WrestleMania, I tried it myself for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The only thing pumped afterward was my stomach.
What if Daniel Bryan could wrestle The Rock in their primes on a dream WrestleMania card? That’s what Stat Guy Greg from ESPN’s “Cheap Heat” came on my show to figure out. He and I lay down the rules and draft our respective rosters for “WrestleMAJia”(1:35), then put our picks in dream matches (32:15). Finally, we talk about what we’re most excited for and worried about at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans (1:01:40). Which I’ll be attending — too sweet!
Spoiler alert: My card is a thousand times better, and that’s the bottom line.
As a huge wrestling fan (see here, here, here), I’d never had the chance to go to a Wrestlemania before. That all changed with Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando, where I not only attended the “Showcase of the Immortals,” but also went to NXT Takeover, saw a Jim Ross panel with Mick Foley, Bruce Prichard, and Jim Cornette, AND attended the Monday Night Raw after ‘Mania.
And man did I have a lot of thoughts on all of it.
