Mike in a Minute: “We” in Sports

I recently got back from two weeks in Russia at the FIFA World Cup, and all I heard from fans was “I can’t believe WE won” or “I can’t believe we got screwed by the refs,” etc.

Well, that’s one of only three times I think it’s OK to use “we” when talking about your favorite sports team.

Did I miss any? Let me know.
